Yesterday was the third anniversary of the Bam's earthquake. I think you can remember it. Three years ago every major news source was speaking about it. "Death toll numbers as high as 80,000 were rumored on the street and 70,000 reported in the media." wikipedia says.

After the earthquake many international NGOs and many country gave money for it's reconstruction. I believe our corrupted government wasted/stole most of the money. This idea straighten by the announcement to newspapers from the ministry of Islamic Guidance: "Nobody is allowed to publish anything about the status of the Baum city and it's reconstruction, except the official reports" and the official reports says 88% of the city is now reconstructed !

One of my colleagues were in Ban yesterday. She returned back today with many many photos. I am depressed seeing them. You can smell the poverty and drug in the photos :( Few things are done and many people are still live in premade homes and camps. People do not have access to the water and phone and many of the children can not attend to schools. I will share some photos tomorrow. I always wanted to show a happy face of my country in this weblog but it seems we do not have that much of happiness.
