Note: english IS NOT my native language. I'm not good at it. But I think writing in poor english is much more BETTER THAN not writing at all. But I'll be glad reciveing friendly editorial, spelling, grammer, ... comments and I'll fix and learn.

View Article  Today is 16 Azar: Iranian Student's day
Today is the students day in Iran. Actually it is tomorrow but As Thu/Fri are Iranian weekends, students are going to celebrate it today. This they is the memorial of the murdering of 3 students during police attack to the Tehran University during Shah's era.

This year students are going to have different gathering and celebration. The first on is today and the second one is in Saturday. I did not participated myself today but news are coming. Some students have started a weblog (15 Azar (in Farsi)) for reporting about this day. Right know it has 8 posts. The first one starts with the Announcement(Report?Open letter?) of Tahkim about this day. I think Tahkim Does not represent students but trys to pretend it; specially this year ! Because we are facing councils elections next week and they have their candidates so they want to have the support of students.

But next posts are more interesting ! The gathering is 12 o'clock. As every years police tries to block the streets and anti revolutionary police is in the nearby streets and do not let people in the university. They do not even let other students to enter the university at 9am.

The report says students are gathered in front of the main door and started a struggle with police and at last broke the doors and entered the university ! I don't know if I have to believe it or not but this is the report. They are shouting:
  • Dead to dictatorship

  • Osanlou (head of the bus syndicate) and Zarafshan (human rights lawyer) must be freed

  • Free the political prisoners

  • Freedom of speech and Freedom of organizations

  • Students! workers ! unite!

This is acceptable and is the normal routine of every year. They are having Free Tribunes (every body can go and talk for a couple of minutes) and are talking about activist against two forces: internal oppression and external invasion.

at the end of free tribune someone wants to read Ibrahim Yazdi's (head of Nehzat Azadi) letter but people make noise and do not let him to do so because of Nehzat Azadi conformity with the regime.

I will write more or revise this writing if I get more news and info about their accuracy

A bad guy. For beating people and starting a gang against morality and rape punished to execution and 11years of priosn

Killing is UNHUMAN ! I am - as many other Iranians - against KILLING of people. The problem is not a pervert man, the problem is how society works in my country. You - the government - can not solve the problems by hanging people in front of other people. This kind of punishment belongs to centuries ago. STOP IT !

View Article  Look at me ! I'm HIV+
Here is Daneshjoo Park (Students park) in central Tehran. Today is 1 Dec, The International AIDS day. They have painted RED RIBBON on their faces and carry a RED RIBBON with many candles in the memory of more than 1000 Iranians who died because of AIDS.

These people (most of them are HIV+) are gathered here to increase the awareness of AIDS in society. These are the members of Positive life(Farsi) and Rainbow society (not a Les/gay society but a AIDS society). Have a look.

Today is my day, can you hear me ?

I am HIV+ (wow.. brave girl!)

group of people with their mottos. This gathering has a license from the government so police did not interfered.

In Iran AIDS was one of the taboos for many years. No official ever talked about it because we were an ISLAMIC regime and AIDS was god's punishment for homosexuals. But after 2 decades, government have accepted the AIDS and lets some NGOs to do some works.

In the first years of AIDS's spread the spread was mainly due to drug addicts and shared injections but in the recent years unsafe / casual sex is also became an AIDS source. The worst part to talk is "case of dirty blood". In that case, many people got HIV / Hepatitis from dirty bloods in hospitals because of an failure in blood testing standards. The good part is these people are now gathered in NGOs and trying to force government to pay back.. but what ? their life ?
